What is there not to love about Spring?! The weather begins to get warmer, everything starts to come alive again, your seasonal depression isn’t feeling so heavy anymore…lol, and most importantly… SPRING FASHION!! I love spring fashion for its brighter and lighter colors, it’s different patterns, and light weight feel. For me, it’s the time of the year that I feel the prettiest because of all the dresses, skirts, and cute flowy blouses I get to wear. My style definitely tends to lean more soft and feminine in the spring.
One key trend that I’m looking forward to the most are Bermuda shorts. This trend was seen in Bottega Veneta, Cloe, Tom Ford, and many other designers’ SS20 runway shows. Now I’m not talking about the tight denim Bermuda shorts that blew up a couple years back because of Fashion Nova…I’m talking about the suit-like, business type Bermudas. I think they’re a perfect transitional piece since here in New York we’re not ready to pull out the short shorts and tanks just yet. This is definitely a new style for me to try, but I’m into this trend because I like that the shorts aren’t so form fitting. They’re wide around the legs but tighter up at the waist. I like to balance my outfits with different fits…so I see myself going for a fitted top when wearing a pair of these shorts. When styled right, I think they can look super chic and accentuate your figure. I think it’ll be interesting and so much fun coming up with different ways to style a pair and incorporate it into my spring closet for this season.
I can’t wait to see more of this style. The streets of NYC are the best place for fashion inspo…so I’m excited to see how others decide to wear this spring 2020 trend!
